We are more than Sunday Morning
St John is a part of The United Church of Christ. We believe God is still speaking to us all. We work to understand who we are and how we fit in God's plan today.
Since 1885 this sacred and beautiful, historical building has been home to our church members serving the surrounding community and sharing the word of Christ.

Vacation Bible Camp 2026 — A Wonderful Week!
We had another very successful — and very fun — Vacation Bible Camp in August, with 14 children and eight adult volunteers participating!
A special thank-you to Pastor Sandy, Doug Simon, Sue Jacobs, Jean Tangorra, Kristina Watkins, Linda Cannon, and Jenny Cooley for all of your wonderful guidance, energy, and help throughout the week.
The highlight of the week is always our trip to the Kayler family farm, and it was terrific to see Dodie, Ellen, and Glen again. Many thanks to the Kaylers for their generous hospitality and for once again making this such a special experience for our children.
This year, we also baked healthy dog biscuits, collected donations for the Buddy Foundation, and visited the shelter, where the children had a chance to spend time with the dogs and cats. We later received a very kind letter from the Buddy Foundation, which said in part:
“Please accept our deepest gratitude for your incredibly generous donations of pet food, supplies, and other items. Your compassion mirrors the spirit of stewardship and care for all creation. In an animal shelter, every day brings new vulnerable lives through our doors. We rely heavily on the kindness of community pillars like St. John United Church of Christ to ensure these animals receive the safety, medical attention, and love they deserve while they wait for their forever families.”
And in between all of that, we made crafts, baked a cake, adopted our own stuffed pets, heard Bible stories, played lots of bingo, and enjoyed plenty of yummy meals and snacks.
It was a wonderful — though admittedly exhausting! — week, and a great time was had by all. Thank you to everyone who helped make Vacation Bible Camp such a memorable experience for our children!
